Tracking a mobile app running HTML5, Site Catalyst, any info?

We have an application that is running a shared code set in both web and iOS and will also include android in the near future. Are there any best practices around this? Some specific issues: - Having difficulties mapping the DEV and PROD environments to the correct report suites within Site Catalyst - Link Tracking - No javascript in the iOS version - Custom Phone Gap Wrapper

Hi James, can you clarify something? Are we talking about native mobile apps that are loading HTML content via a sandboxed browser OR are we talking about non-Native HTML5 apps (e.g. in the mobile default browser)?

Hey Clint, Thanks for the response. The app could be loaded through a standard web browser, default mobile browser (which is not likely but possible), as well as natively through iOS app. I have a meeting scheduled for Friday with our mobile developer and some folks on your end. Hopefully we can solve for some of this then but I thought I would get some additional feedback from the community if possible.

Hi James, What do you mean by "No JavaScript in the iOS version"? If you are loading the HTML pages for both mobile web and mobile apps, then the utag.js file on the HTML pages should handle the metrics calls (for views and clicks) in both cases. You wouldn't need the Tealium mobile SDK unless you want to track views, clicks, or other events within the native portions of your mobile apps.

Hey Adam, Thanks for the response. I think this was mentioned at some point about 6 months ago when we first implemented. However, there was some concern that without using the the SDK, data would not be sent for folks who are using the iOS app offline.

Are you saying that the HTML content is stored within the app on the user's device, and an internet connection is not needed to view that content?
