How do you interact with Tealium’s products on a daily basis?

I currently manage approximately 30 properties, and we are undertaking an aggressive re-platforming programme. I'm building out tag solutions and ensuring we have as robust a data harvesting system as possible. Tealium IQ has made the process an absolute pleasure, providing a tool to simplify execution but without compromising on capability. In fact, I'd probably say it has expanding capability.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I have a young family, and my kids keep me occupied a lot out of work. We love visiting some of the great sites around the UK and going camping. Beyond that I am a constant learner, so I am learning Python at the moment and cloud infrastructure, setting up a lab in the cloud and working on anything data wise that tickles me. I'm also a bit of a gamer with Elite Dangerous as an absolute favourite.

What do you see as the hottest trends in technology today?

AI and ML are hot topics at the moment, there are certainly a lot of companies trying to flog their solutions. I think this is still very much at the beginning of the journey. Interestingly, there is a concerted effort observable from the recruitment market that points to companies beginning to focus on their data engineering and getting data harvesting right.

How can an organization stay relevant five years from now?

I think organisations stay relevant when they are customer centric.

What do you consider most promising in the era of big data?

The democratisation of data and the citizen data scientist.

What app would be hard for you to live without?

Ha, I'm not a major app person. I suppose, the browser and One Note… can't live without One Note.

What was the worst job you’ve ever had?

Never really had a bad job, they were all part of my journey.

And lastly, if you woke up tomorrow as an animal, what animal would you choose to be and why?

A cat, they have a good deal…
