I want to track AddToCart Events with the Facebook Remarketing Tag (not the Conversion Tag). I don't find anything on how to configure the tag here.
So please help me:
1. In the Facebook Remarketing Mapping Toolbox, there is an "Events" Section. Under "Select Event", I can select the event I need (i.e. "AddToCart", but what is the "Trigger"?
2. How do I ensure Facebook Remarketing "gets" it that when e.g. utag.link contains "event_action" :"add_to_cart", it should track an AddToCart Event?
3. I tried setting a Custom Parameter "purchase.cust_prod_cat", but it didn't get sent. What am I doing wrong?

Hi @loldenburg. Here is a basic configuration guide: https://community.tealiumiq.com/t5/Digital-Marketing/Facebook-Conversions-Tag-Basic-Configuration/m-...
Hope this helps.

Thanks, but as I wrote I need support for the Remarketing, not the Conversion Tag.

Hi @loldenburg,
I think it's best to reach out to your Account Manager directly and they will assign the best help to you accordingly. Thank you.

Already did that. But I think the general guide section here in the Community needs to be enriched by the Facebook Remarketing instructions. I am sure many people do FB Remarketing, so I am probably not the only one.

Great suggestion @loldenburg. Let me see what can be done.

Hey @loldenburg,
1. When you select a data source to trigger an event, what you're telling Tealium iQ to do is to look at the value of the selected data source, and if the value matches what you've entered for the mapping, then that event will fire. For example, I've mapped a data source called fb_event_type to the AddToCart event. I put in the value "add_item" in the text field. This means that when the variable fb_event_type contains "add_item" on my web page, the Facebook tag library will fire an AddToCart event.
2. To verify that the AddToCart event went out, you have a couple options.
Sometimes I use the FB Pixel helper extension, which you can get for Chrome (and perhaps other browsers?). This extension shows the FB calls that are made and the data passed with them. Ignore the error messages in the screengrab. I threw in a fake pixel ID for testing purposes.
If you prefer a browser's developer tools, then you can look at the Network tab to see the network calls go out. Filter by "facebook" and you should see the AddtoCart call fire with its assocaited data. Again, I use Chrome for this purpose.
Note: If you have the FB Pixel Helper extension enabled, and choose to look at the network calls through Chrome's developer tools, you're going to see double calls for each event. Double calls in this case aren't a bad thing for the Facebook tag. It just seems to be how the Pixel Helper works. Disabling the Pixel Helper clears out these double calls.
3. For passing custom data, I don't know why it's not working for you. For this I encourage you to reach out to your Tealium account manager.
