Limitation on string values

Hello, all,

I would like to know if there is any limitation on the number of maximum characters for a string value. For example, if I would need to use an encrypted UserId, how many characters am I able to fit in?

Thanks in advance

Regards

I would depend on how you want to use the string, i guess.

If you are just collecting a value in IQ and keeping it in the browser, there is not limit, but if you are passing it, like to Adobe Analytics, then there is a limit of around 250 characters for an evar and 100 characters for a prop.

If you are passing it to Audience Stream and the Data Hub, then 255 is your limit.

Good luck!

@mrelea, STerjeson is right. I did a little more research and it is 1000 characters. Keep in mind where you want to pass it tho. Not every tool has that large of a limit.
