Adding more than 20 dimensions to Google Analytics

My question is very straightforward. Tealium IQ currently shows only 20 dimensions to be mapped for Google Analytics (gtag.js) tag. Is there anyway to add map more than 20 dimensions?

Yes it is possible to add more that 20 custom dimension using Tealium.

With respect to data collection point Google Analytics,

If you are using Google Analytics Standard then in your Google Analytics tool you will not be able to add more that 20 custom dimension, becuase Google Analytics standard support maximum of 20 custom dimension.

If you are using Google Analytics 360(Premium) then you can add upto 200 supported custom dimension in your Google Analytics tool.

So, if you want to add more that 20 in Tealium,

Navigate to the Data-mapping then to dimension tab -> Dimension (Scroll to premium dimension) -> Then edit the dimension number to your desired Custom Dimension number(index).
