Channels Extension and replicating Adobe Channel Stacking Reports

Hi - I want to replicate (and then better) the channel stacking reports offered by Adobe Consulting but using the Tealium Channels extension. (Good progress has been made with help from Tealium's support team and Sethâ s article on this forum.) One thing Adobe does pretty well is maintaining a list of search engines, so if a referrer is from a recognised (ie listed) search engine and doesn't match a paid search detection rule (which could be that the query string parameter "cmpid" for example), it automatically sets the channel as natural search. What do people do when using Tealium to creating their natural search rule? Do you have a list of search engines that you maintain? Can you share it? Do you think this is something that should be offered and maintained (to a reasonable standard) by Tealium?

Hi Jonathan, I have found a pretty comprehensive list that I think will satisfy your requirement, although I don't want to post it here just yet until we've tested it together. I'll drop you an email later with the list so we can test it. I think in reality most people trust their analytics tool to split out their referrers for them, but if this works well for you, then we can perhaps look at integrating the list into Tealium somehow. The real problem would be updating the list, and I can imagine that it would go stale very quickly. It could easily be a full time job for somebody at Tealium to maintain, and I think the analytics vendors already do a reasonable job. Speak later, Craig.
