Conditional Split Segmentation by Scoping to Custom Tag Not Working in IE

I am attempting to add a date and time condition to a Split Segmentation extension. I created an empty tag with date and time condition load rules. Then I added the new tag to the scope of the Segmentation extension - alongside the Pre Loader. This works fine in Chrome/Firefox but does not work in IE(8). The cookies are never set in IE. When I remove the scoped tag and leave only the Pre Loader it works fine in IE. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Jeff

Conditional Split Segmentation by Scoping to Custom Tag Not Working in IE

Hi Jeff, When extensions are scoped to pre-loader, the extension will fire immediately when the utag.js file loads. This will happen before loading other elements in Tealium. Therefore, depending on the implementation, scoping split segmentation to both pre-loader and a specific tag would not be that useful. For the specific IE issue, it can depend on your configurations as well as the site/page you are trying to fire the tag on. If you feel comfortable putting a URL in this post, we can see if we can replicate the issue. Otherwise, Feel free to contact your account manager for more help with this issue. -Jasmine

To add a bit of extra information, there are a couple of things to note about the Split Segmentation extension: - if you scope the extension to run at pre-loader the utag_main cookie namespace is not available - so you must use a standard 1st party cookie - if you scope the extension to a tag then the cookie is not set before load rules are executed and therefore the split segmentation will not be performed - you should only scope the extension to "Pre-Loader" or "All Tags" As Jasmine states, it's difficult to debug without seeing the exact configs so please contact your AM if you have not already done so.
