Cross Tracking on sister site

Hello,

example- I am managing www.king.com (uses Tealium) and we got sister site called www.queen.com (uses Dynamic Tag Management). Now www.queen.com will get a tag firing on a page which will be deployed via DTM. And we want to know how many people come to our site that is king.com after visiting particular page of queen.com where the tag will fire. How do I get to know what people are coming from sister site to our site. There is no referring link  on sister site.

Any inputs on how to approach this scenario?

Hello @jmm428377

Please help me understand, you want to know how many visitors are coming from queen.com to king.com?? if yes, you want this info inside tealium to run some conditions/load rules in Tealium or you just want to know the visitor stats?

Thanks

Hello @mvenkatesan

Yes, I want to know how many visitors are coming from queen.com to king.com after they visit a "jewellery" page on queen.com.

queen.com will implement a tag via DTM and we at king.com can use the same tag to work out something via Tealium

Yes want to know only visitor stats

Hello @jmm428377

If its only visitor stats, I believe you can use the Web Analytics tool to get the details.

But you had mentioned that you need to trigger a tag based on that info , there are 3 different ways you can do it -

  1. if you are directly landing on king.com from a specifc page in queen.com, you can use 'referrer' variable in your condition to check for the page and if the condition passes do next steps in tealium
  2. if referrer is not working, you also mentioned that you are using DTM in queen.com (assuming that no Tealium in queen.com) in this case you need to use cross browse enabled (CORS enabled) which will help sync cookie data with king and queen.
  3. If you have tealium on queen.com then Tealium as a functionality for this "Cross Domain Tracking Using First-Party Cookie Sync and Iframes" and belwo is the link -

Hope this helps

Hi @mvenkatesan,

Thanks for the reply

So for 2 option, in regards to CORS, does that mean king.com can read cookie set by queen.com? is it?

Hello @jmm428377

Yes, with CORS enabled you can share resources between domains.

Note: Sorry, I not familier with the implementation details, so will not be able to help you with that.
