Deselected consent preference dialog category's tags still firing

We're implementing the consent preferences category dialog, but when I check if the tags from a specific category are still loaded after the category has been deselected; they are still fired.

Also when I check utag.gdpr.getCookieValues() the category has been flagged to mirror the choice in the dialog.

Why is this happening, have we missed something?

I've fixed it by creating load rules that match parts of the cookie that is being set by the consent management dialogs. Also the cookie is read and stored into UDO variables to limit the firing of some applicable extensions.

This seems to work for now, but it feels like a work-around.

Are there any news on solving that problem without a work around?
