Hi,
I was wondering if it is possible to trigger the 'Display Advertising Features' for Google Analytics only when a customer has set their cookies to a certain level? I use the tealium tag from Universal Analytics. it has a standard vendor option to enable Display Advertising Features. I would like to enable it but only when a certain cookie is accepted. The challenge is that I do not want the whole tag to listen to this load rule because GA should load on any page without taking the cookie level into account. any help would be very nice, thanks!

We had a similar requirement around IP anonymization, @fedor_goossens, which is also a setting in the GA tag. In our case, we decided to clone the tag, with one version havig the setting on, and the other version with it off. And then we used a country-specific load rule to determine which tag to fire. So, we didn't base it on the consent prompt, strictly speaking, but the IP anonmized version we felt safe to omit from the consent prompt because we had also ensured we are not collecting PII into GA. And the non-anonimized version we load for our non-EU-based properties. So, this doesn't totally meet your requirement, because we do not load a different version if the consent prompt is accepted, but rather we just have one version we feel does not require consent.

Hi @Krasner,
thank you very much for sharing. I had thought about cloning the tag but was hoping there was som other solutions since that will also require that all changes will be done at both tags and I hoped I could avaid that. But I guess it is the best solution for now and will probably do this as well and the use the load rule to take the cookie consent into account.
Thanks for your reply!
Best,
Fedor
