How can I implement Sitecatalyst error 404?

Hi,

I need to implement the error 404 in Tealium with Adobe SiteCatalyst. SiteCatalayst recognizes an error when the variable "pageType"  has the value "errorPage".

I have tried to create an UDO variable named "pageType" and I have put the value "errorPage" in the utag_data of the page, but it doesn't work.

How can I resolve this problem?

Thanks a lot.

Hi @BMC,

Do you actually see "errorPage" being sent out under s.pageType when you're monitoring the network calls?

Thanks,

Do

Forgive the intrusion on the topic, but I'm working on something similar. Adobe Analytics provides a special variable called "pageType" which is only used for reporting pages not found (http 404 response). I don't see this pageType variable in my Adobe SiteCatalyst tag data mapping destinations options, so I suppose I need to add it as a custom variable. If nothing else it should be in "Other" in the Adobe tag mappings list. See: https://marketing.adobe.com/resources/help/en_US/sc/implement/pageType.html Furthermore, does Tealium "sense" the 404 status code in the document's response header? I can see the 404 status in the browser console (network panel)... how can I retrieve that status and do something based on the value (such as moving the page name value into the s.pageType variable). Thanks -

Looks like this topic has a teeny bit of info. Poor s.pageType variable doesn't rate its own space in the mapper apparently! :) Maybe that's another reason I find it not implemented on most SC implementations I review. https://community.tealiumiq.com/t5/Tealium-iQ/SiteCatalyst-s-pageType-is-missing-in-the-tag/m-p/8956...

Hello @mitchellt. No apologies needed. We love having you speak up and let us know what you are seeing. Great catch with finding the answer to s.pageType. I totally missed that. #KathyJoFail LOL I am sure that @BMC will love to hear about the solution.

Quick thought, @mitchellt. If you would like to see this variable mapped in the Tealium interface send an email to ideas@tealium.com requesting this change.

Thank you again for your help!
