When the popup appears to let you choose what parameter to map your data source to, just hit cancel. You can then type the parameter name of your choice in manually, including user-defined parameters.

As answered by Wes Contreras, For an unmapped data source:

  1. Open the Mapping toolbox:
  2. Select the data source you want to map
  3. Click "Select Destination"
  4. Click "Cancel"
  5. In the Data Mappings list, find the Data Source you just added
  6. Type in the user-defined destination (you can use a comma-separated list for multiple destination)

If you're data source is already mapped to a pre-defined destination in WebTrends, then start with step 5 above.

Thanks for answering. But there is one little hint, that I was missing: If mapping a custom variable, prepand the variable name with "DCSext." I overread this hint in the documentation: https://community.tealiumiq.com/t5/Tags/Webtrends-Implementation-Guidelines/ta-p/12346

I'm used to using almost entirely WT. parameters, so I didn't think of that aspect of it. Good catch!
