Testing an Adobe Target Tag fix on a site

I need help with testing an adobe target tag fix on a site.
I have a potential fix for the adobe target tag that I deployed to dev on a site.
After making a change to the tag and publishing it to the dev environment, I tried using the 'Web Companion Tool' to select
the dev environment, but now I'm not seeing any of the pixels appear in the network tab. I'm using the
'Web Companion Tool' to test this fix and selecting dev as the target environment, but I'm not seeing
those pixels with that ID info loading. How can I test this fix in a site and make sure these
pixels are loading in the network tab with the ID info?

@christina_schel, thank you for the amazing input!

One last question, how can I switch IDs to the utag.42 wrapper? Currently, the IDs I am working with are under the 'New Relic caller.js' wrapper in dev tools under the network>initiator tab, but I need to have these IDs in the utag.42 wrapper. Is there any tool that can help switch these IDs under the proper wrapper?

Thank you!

@dulcetdiver,

Do you mind providing more detail as to what you are trying to do? Screen shots?

Thanks!
