in our set up for event/action tagging we route few variables from the universal data object if those are there in the page load of that event. but facing an issue with the UserId variable. It is firing for the page load but not for the event on the same

Hi Shailesh, If I am reading you correctly it sounds like you are saying that the user id variable is being passed on page view but not on an in page event such as a page view. Is this correct? If so, add the user id as a base variable under the publish settings and see if that works. Here is a link on how to access the publish settings. https://community.tealiumiq.com/posts/705799-publish-configurations Under base variables add the user id data source and test again. Hope this helps!

Hi James, UserId variable is being passed on page view but not on page events like Print, Search etc. We set it up this way that if UserId is firing on PageView then for that same page event it should be picked from the UDO. It is wrking fine for our one of the sites but not for other sites even though the whole set up is same. UserId is already a part of UDO (base variables)

Shailesh, Have you updated the publish settings? To do so follow the instructions in the url that I provided and add the data source for your user id in the "base variables" field. If you have already made this change and it still does not solve the problem I recommend reaching out to your account manager. Thanks!
