s.products not recognising some data variables on the button tracking call

We are trying to record the s.products on the Sitecatalyst call on the click of the ‘Add to Cart’ button. 

There is a jQuery OnHandler Extension  that detects the button click and fires the scAdd event.   So upon the click of the button, Sitecatalyst is called once and once more when the next page –cart page-loads.   We have set the s.products in the Sitecatalyst template to include some variables including the utag_data.product_sku [] variable.  The s.products statement is including all the required data on all page calls but not on the add to cart call.  The crucial variable of  utag_data.product_sku is missing alongwith quantity and price. Only the category and product ID data is showing.  

Can you  suggest why that could be happening?  Thank you!

I would first recommend checking what data is being passed through on the link.
Also, even if the data is being passed through, it would be prodent to make sure that the ecommerce extension is set up for those variables.
