This article describes how to use the Tag Status Checker to scan your tags and display information about version numbers and the tag template modification status.

To use the tag status checker you need the Manage Tag Templates permission.
The Tag Status Checker tool compares each of your tags to the most current version available in the tag marketplace. After running the tool, a status for each tag is displayed based on its version and modification status. The summary information that displays allows you to quickly evaluate the status of your tags to determine if updates are needed.
After completing the scan, a detailed report displays a list of your tags that includes the following columns:
The following statuses are reported. Note that a tag may have more than one status.
|New Version Available||
Indicates that a newer version of the tag template is available.
Indicates that this tag template matches the latest version available from the tag marketplace.
Indicates that the tag template has not been modified from its original state when it was added from the tag marketplace.
Indicates that the tag template has been edited from its original state by a user.
Indicates that this version of the tag template is no longer supported or offered in the tag marketplace.
It is likely that a new version of the vendor tag has been released to replace this one.
Indicates that the tag template does not match the currently selected version of the tag in the tag configuration settings.
Indicates that the system is unable to determine the current state of the template.
