Agreed with Gavin, you should populate that variable only on the pages that you want it to fire, then only when the variable is populated the data will be sent back to GA through the tag.

Hi Gavin, Thank you for the response! Now the issue has resolved and the issue behind it, The tag was not firing since the "tracking_id" was setting from tealium variable "trackingID". After modification in template, to take it from vendor configuration it start working in Dev/QA. Thanks to Pabboji Chary for the solution. --Nandan

Hi @Ranjan_Mestri, Tealium provides a browser extension called Tealium Tools https://community.tealiumiq.com/t5/Developer-Tools/Tealium-Tools-Browser-Extension/ta-p/18355 One of the tools available is called Utag Debugger https://community.tealiumiq.com/t5/iQ-Tag-Management/Tealium-Tools-Universal-Tag-UTAG-Debugger/ta-p/15179 Install the extension and tool, then open it on any site running utag. The tool opens in a new window which contains all the events that have been tracked and what the data layer looked like at the time the call was made Regards, Ribal

Ah, The way to implement 2 is using a Custom JS extention. $("[id='some id']").on('submit', function(e) { utag.link ({ event_name : "some_event", another_var : "another value" }); }); In this example i am waiting for a form submit which will then trigger a utag.link and i can pass whatever vars i need to.

Hi, It turns out that I was using a qp.parametername as the Querystring Parameter instead of the parametername in the URL. Also I wonder if it will help to use a random cookie name instead of a utag_main_cookiename when we are setting the expiration date.

Hi @GavinAttard, You can add a Tealium custom container tag. In the tag template place the exact code where it says "start tag sendind code" and publish. Then You are all set.

Hi @eclark There are two ways: As you pointed out, the value can me made visible in the UDO on each page and used when requried. This will require your devs to make this happen. If on the other hand, the former is no possible, then you can 'persist' a value to subsequent pages. There is an extention ready made to do this, and all it does is drop a cookie, which you can then pick up when you need... Hope that helps. Gavin

Ok Folks, so i think i figured this out. It appears that Tealium Dev, missed the checkout_step in the 'checkout_progress' event. So added this into the tag template and it works a charm. Also note, for anyone migrating to gtag.js, that firing the 'begin_checkout' event autoamtically sets checkout_step = 1.

Hi @mitchellt many thanks for your help! It seems I possibly just wasn't being patient enough, as over 2 weeks after implementing the schema, Google seems to have rendered the JS tags in which the changes were contained and is now picking them up in Search Console just fine. Would love to experiement with the Pre-Loader / DOM Ready scopes at some point (or even simply using the Fetch as Google function) to see if it expedites the process at all - but for the minute I'm just pleased it's working!

HI Does anyone have any experience implementing the Lotame tag. It's easy enough to implemen thte basic tag, however i had a request to implement a bunch of Lotame Insight tags. I was simply provided with pixels for each event they want tracked. i want to try and avoid having to implement this usign the pixel container. Any and all ideas welcome. Thanks

@GavinAttard @Michael_Kim_shc please take a look at this document: https://community.tealiumiq.com/t5/Tags/Google-Universal-Analytics-Tag-Enhanced-E-Commerce/ta-p/279#checkout_action To send checkout steps (required for the funnel), you need to set "enh_action" to "checkout" and then pass supplemental cart info. The documentation has examples of what you could send. This will automatically send the commands in the format required by Google Analytics. Let me know if you have any issues setting it up.
