Clearly, the JQuery solution is the better one. What about if the button doesn't have a specific link, but it fires a javascript call, can we target the button's name or class in the JQuery selector?

Thanks! I get that using JQuery is the better way to go, but since my site doesn't load the JQuery library, the extention would fail. Interesting way there to target the href. I'll play with that. THANKS!!

I would like to create a javascript extension to capture whether a site visitor has clicked on 1 of 3 buttons on a page. The only differentiation between the buttons is in the href url.

What if the website in question doesn't load JQuery and all we want to do is capture the click to the button? The example for javascript starts with JQuery..pesky little thing...So, if I create a data layer object called click_tracking and want to put the ID of the button clicked as it's value...

I think my question is related, but I also am interested in capturing Qualtrics data into data layer objects. I thought, perhaps a utag.link call, but that doesn't get inside Qualtrics to parse the data, so anyone have any thoughts on this one. I do not have Audience Stream.

I have a data layer object ols_widget_bought. If the value of it is widget bought with the order number following, I want to map it to event 54. the number following is irrelevant. I tried using widget bought*, but that didn't work.

I'm going through fall cleanup of the environment and have some tags named with NEW that I'd now like to rename. I'm concerned about the extensions that link to them. Does the link change dynamically or will the connection break with the name and I'll have to reconnect?

I want to map a data layer element based on it's contents to an event for Adobe to process. I've done this before with static values, but will it work using the * so if the variable value is 12345, I can map to 123* and the target event will capture the full string of data?
