Hello TLC members, today we have another community tip for you! We hope you enjoyed our previous post on subscriptions. In this blog post we show how to update your profile.
How to Access Your Profile
To access your profile, at the top right of the screen select the username drop-down and click My profile.
Information You’ll Find in Your Profile
A quick look at the top of your profile will show your avatar, how many discussion posts you’ve made, kudos you’ve given and received, and how many of your answers were marked as solutions. Scrolling down the page will give more information on the badges you’ve gotten and discussions you’ve participated in. You will also see a list of the users whom you’ve given kudos, and those who’ve given them to you.
Edit Your Profile Information
You can edit your avatar in the “My profile” area, but the majority of the information you will want to edit is accessed via “My settings”. To access your settings, click the username drop-down and select My settings.
Once you you are in your settings, you will see tab options, with the first being personal preferences. Here you are able to update your email address, and more importantly, you can add a biography and signature. We suggest taking advantage of this so that your fellow community members can get to know you and your expertise better. Additionally, you can document IM screen names and close your account here.
Visiting this tab is helpful if you are looking customize your time zone, language, or general display of the community. There are also options to adjust the privacy of your profile information, and how kudos and your private messenger are displayed.
You have the option to choose an avatar from a preset collection, or upload your own photo. In a virtual world this makes a big difference in building community. Part of becoming a thought leader or Expert in this community is being recognizable, so please upload your headshot or a photo that represents you.
Hovering Over Your Username
Use this method to see a snapshot of how many solutions, posts, and kudos you’ve contributed. You’ll also see badges and a quick link to view your profile. This is a great way to get to know other users, too. By hovering over their usernames you can easily get to their full profile, or even send a message.
If you have any questions about your profile information, or run into any trouble when updating it, please contact me and I can help. You can post a message here, send a private message directly, or email firstname.lastname@example.org .

Hi TLC members! It’s Kristen, your Community Manager and closest confidant in getting tips to utilize the resources here. I am excited to tell you that I will be doing regular blog posts that show you how to make your experience more easy and impactful in the community. Today, let’s talk subscriptions!
How to Access Your Subscription Settings
To access your subscription and notification preferences, you will navigate to the top right corner and select the drop down arrow by your username. Then, select “My subscriptions”. Once selected, you will see several tabs which I will describe further down in this post.
How to Subscribe to a Forum, Blog, or Product Guide
In order to subscribe to a discussion board, you will navigate to the board (Tealium iQ, for example) and select the gear icon in the top right corner, then select “Subscribe”.
Alternatively, you can subscribe to a forum by clicking the "Follow" button on the forum page.
How to Bookmark a Forum, Blog, or Product Guide
To bookmark an item, follow the same steps above, then find your bookmarked items in the Bookmarks Tab where they are saved for later. This option is great if you'd like to save community items without recieving email notifications.
My Subscriptions, My Bookmarks, and My Notifications
The "My Subscriptions" tab shows which discussion forums, blogs, and product guides you are subscribed to. Bookmarks work almost entirely like subscriptions, except that there is no notification attached to them. The "My Notifications" tab is where you manage how email notifications will be sent to you. You can select the delivery of emails to be sent immediately, in a daily digest, or in a weekly digest. You may want immediate emails when someone kudos your post, but only a daily digest for new topics started in a forum. This is where you would make those selections. You can also choose whether or not your emails are sent in plain ext or HTML.
Subscribe to the TLC Newsletter
We recently announced the release of a quarterly newsletter specific to the Tealium Learning Center and it's top resources. Enter your email below and click "Submit" to make sure you are on the list!
If you have any issues when setting up your subscription preferences, please visit the community FAQ page. I’d be happy to help, as well! You can post a message here, send a private message directly, or email email@example.com .

TLC members, we have an awesome new community feautre that we think you will love: we are introducing a TLC Blog! (insert confetti here)
For our inaugral post, we wanted to give you the heads up and have a space where you could share your feedback, ideas for posts, and more. You can even comment below, just like you would in a forum discussion!
Another key in rolling out this community blog is to give our members some clear ideas on what you can expect from the content you will find here.
We plan on providing you with the absolute best technical content, that will help you troubleshoot any issues you may be working through. We would love for you to submit your own "how-to" that can be shared as a blog post in the community. It's great exposure for you and your company, and the bonus is the peer to peer knowledge sharing that helps out fellow community members.
If you would like an article you've written to be considered for posting in the community, keep in mind the following guidelines:
Keep blog post content specific to your personal experience with Tealium products. If you have a doc you started while implementing TiQ, or a unique way AudienceStream has helped your data flow, we want to hear about things like that.
Use English when writing, as it's the universal language within the community. If English is your second language, don't worry! We are happy to help tweak a little verbiage as needed.
Submit original content (not already posted elsewhere) and ensure your article is at least 350 words or longer.
Myself and other Tealium team members will use the TLC blog to post tips about best utilizing the community and the documentation within the community. We are looking forward to publishing all kinds of nuggets that help make TLC and Tealium products more simple to use. Of course we hope us getting more engaged will inspire more of our community members to, also.
On behalf of the whole TLC team, we are thrilled to take you on this new journey with us! And of course, please feel free to reach out with questions by leaving a note here, or sending a note to firstname.lastname@example.org.
